Condominium 4 Houses | Cascais

The condominium is composed of four houses located in Abuxarda, Portugal, developed from a layout that seeks to take advantage of the topography, solar exposure, and the existing natural surroundings. The ensemble presents itself as a contemporary architectural composition, marked by overlapping horizontal volumes, large glazed surfaces, spacious terraces, and a constant relationship between interior and exterior. The placement of the four residential units was designed in a staggered manner, allowing each house to benefit from privacy, open views, and its own outdoor areas, while maintaining the formal coherence of the whole. Cascais School International Competition 2019

Architecture This proposal for the elaboration of the Cascais School project aims to answer the programmatic and functional specifications expressed in the Competition Programme taking into account the territory where it is located and its conditioning factors. We intend the future school to be a contribution to the city of Cascais, through its remarkable image and by offering new public spaces of large and small scale for the enjoyment of the community. The remodeling of the Historic Garden in the center of Cascais is sensitive. The proposal presents a new Garden, more versatile and appealing according to the new concepts of current experiences of a Garden, working with several constraints such as the preservation of existing large trees and pre-existing activities. Dna House Cascais

We designed this house in a different context, in full quarantine due to COVID. We are inspired by the simplicity of the shapes, complemented by a bronze ladder with the shape of DNA. This house was designed for a land in cascais. It has an area of 440 square meters, with a large living room, with an open space kitchen and 5 bedrooms. One of the symbols of the house is the swimming pool that surrounds the entire finished elevation of the living room and bedrooms on the lower floor. Estoril Sol Residence

Estoril Sol Residence, Cascais - Portugal Gonçalo Byrne Arquitectos The new housing complex appears at the site of old Hotel Estoril-Sol, a building of 20 floors from 1960's, which was demolished to make way for new construction. For its large volume and visibility on the seafront, the complex establishes a new relationship with its surrounding territory, reshaping and qualifying this important entrance to the village of Cascais. The 15-storey buildings are founded on a common platform that hosts access, services and leisure areas. Its 110 rooms stand out for the large variation and typological careful detailing.
