agricultural school winklhof

The Winklhof is an agricultural school in Oberalm, near Salzburg. The existing atrium situation of the school complex was upgraded by the construction of the boarding wing. A conscious distance from the existing ensemble gives the new building an independence that reinforces the existing typology. Because of this, the extension is only connected to the existing building on the first floor via a bridge. Horst Michael Lechner Horst Michael Lechner Leisure areas for the students are housed in an orangery with the greatest possible focus on the common good, facing the courtyard. This also serves as an entrance area for the school, as a link to the northern school area and as a weather-protected area for communication, exhibitions, pr... More

Esterházy Castle - Reconstruction of the West Wing

When visiting Eszterháza and catching a glimpse of the castle, a visitor’s first impression will be the symbiosis of unity and grandeur. The majestic inner court and the median risalit that can be seen from the park almost entirely mask the characteristics of the previous building eras. The challenge of design was of interest to us from the aspect of clarifying the relationship with this property and the question of heritage which, when considered more closely, raised a series of questions. The entire west wing hosts exhibitions, where it is primarily the high standards and wealth of a bygone era which are exhibited. Spaces are used in a different way which free us from some restraints: we were able to abstain from attempting t... More

Veulen Castle

One of the main objectives for the renovations was to maintain the monumental character of the castle, aswell as reflect the owner's love and passion for craftsmanship, heritage and history. In the interior of the castle we find a subtle blend of soft greens, beige, brass and oak. a subtle nod to the palet we find in the garden's. Creating a warm and peaceful setting.  The same idiology was translated into the kitchen and bathroom. While designing these interiors, the priority was to maintain the sense of warmth and peace by usage of warm colors. We therefor applied our iconic Old Brass finish to our prod... More

Intervention in Morella Castle

The general criterion for intervention has been to restore and consolidate the existing masonry, maintaining their ruinous physiognomy, mainly in their crowns, hollows and surfaces, avoiding reinterpretation of the original state. In the same way, for the necessary added functional elements such as carpentry, it has been used stainless steel with titanium steam treatment, giving it a finish that integrates with the rest of the intervention.... Krujë castle

Krujë is the ancient capital city of Albania, the symbol of the resistance against Ottoman invasions and birth place of the national hero, Giorgio Castriota Skanderbeg. Its name appears to derive from the word krua which means spring, due to the numerous sources of fresh water which descend from the surrounding mountains. From a geographical point of view, Krujë is located in central Albania and extends to the foot of the western slope of the mountain with the same name. This strategic position, a crossroads for the routes connecting the entire country, led to the development of trade and determined its dominant role towards the surrounding districts. The castle is the symbol of the city, perched atop a rocky ridge on the eastern s... More

Castello di Rozafa

Shkodër is the most important city in northern Albania. Being on the border, the city has been subject to Venetian, Slavic and Ottoman influence and domination. This intertwining of cultures is still clearly visible in the traces of Islamic and Catholic, Italian and Turkish architecture found in the monuments, buildings and even in the Rozafa Castle, as the symbol of Shkodër and the best observation point, looking over the city and its surroundings. Perched atop a promontory and wedged between three rivers, the fortress (once) controlled entry into the city. It was built by the Illyrians before being expanded throughout the years by the Venetians and then by the Ottomans, with works that can still be seen today. Its name is linked... More

Stone and the Sea: A Dialogue...

The prison had been in its position standing still, undergoing the wear and tear of nature and human vandalism. The sea and the prison in such close proximity have been having a conversation with each other since ages .A moment in this conversation had been encapsulated into a museum which holds artistic decor, where a wave tried to collide with the prison and the structure standing in its glory is width standing it. The wave had been symbolized in to a form which shows a brutal nature of water, its intensity, force, sharpness and edges which is trying to engulf the prison from all sides.Favignana, with its strong geographical and historical context of the Tonara and the Mattanza, is an important aspect of culture.
