Imperial War Museums
A Mapei system of flooring products has been specified as part of a major redevelopment at IWM London. Part of the Imperial War Museums, the historic museum has been transformed to mark the centenary of the First World War; the design– created by architects Foster + Partners - improves access, circulation, as well as creating new vistas to the park outside. Mapei’s high performance cementitious flooring system, Ultratop, was chosen to complement the exhibits and provide a low maintenance floor coupled with resistance to heavy pedestrian traffic. All works were co-ordinated by IWM’s Construction Managers, Lend Lease, and Mapei systems were installed by Polished Concrete Designs for ITC Concepts Ltd.

Ceiling and wall systems by Armstrong have provided form AND function for an award-winning Grade A office building at the heart of one of the largest regeneration projects in the UK.
Armstrong’s R-H 200 standard perforated metal hook-on planks with acoustic inlay within a concealed grid, were specified by regular Armstrong users Falconer Chester Hall Architects for the feature ceiling of the atrium of the Kingsgate building at Birkenhead in Wirral Waters which was built at a cost of £11.4 million.

NS Headquarters
The Katreinetoren in Utrecht is the home base of NS Stations, the department of the Dutch Railway (NS) that develops and services railway stations in the Netherlands.
The 15 stories 55m high tower is built right on top of Utrecht Centraal, the biggest railway station in the Netherlands. The entrance is positioned conveniently in the Central Hall!
The width of the building is based on the dimensions of the railway tracks below. The interior is dominated by this concrete structure: the elevator core and structural beams remain in sight.
A reconstruction took place in 1999 when the Brutalist mid-seventies building was wrapped in a glass skin.

CLUJ ARENA STADIUM
In 1911 the first athletic and soccer stadium was built in Cluj, near the Central Park and close to the river. A wooden tribune gave shelter to the spectators. After 50 years, in 1961, a new concrete stadium was built replacing the old one. It had a horse shoe shape, and it received after some time the name of a famous Romanian athlete. After another 50 years, following more than a decade of debates and proposals, the new Cluj Arena was built and opened to the public in 2011.
