Inside-Outside_The stage|Marazzi G @ CERSAIE 2005|

It’s the project of an unconventional and theatrical space aimed to match the plastic qualities of Marazzi’s bathroom products. Defined by a freely moving plastic curtain whose fluid aesthetic enhances the project’s theme, the space is divided in two. The first section is filled with a calm abstract atmosphere, with a graphically patterned floor of blue mosaic tiles, organic shaped lighting elements on the ceiling and hedges of white reeds framing the presentation of pristine basins. At the opposite the black’n’urban sleek, polished interior of the second room distinguishes a private area, a “stage” for the debut of new or work-in-progress top products. With the aim of creating a symbolic experience that would offer new perspectives on the b... A temporary showroom|Royal Ceramica@CERSAIE 2012|

Achieving for highly personal and emotional effect the project suggests the image of a luxurious contemporary environment. Diffused light and the extensive use of decorative carpeting - combined with a long black velvet curtain bounding the interior walls to hide lounge and meeting spaces - provide a general atmosphere similar to a hi-end fashion store.Absolute black is chosen to emphasize the decorative qualities of the ceramics on display. The exhibition is organized through independent volumes - sort of tridimensional frames - which offer a controlled view on the individual products and mark a clear but fragmented path full of visual overlaps.Meeting and lounge spaces are both characterized by abstract huge look-a-like chandeliers: large... Remix | Kale Group @ CERSAIE 2015 |

Remix: when a pop song is under a deconstructing/reconstructing treatment producing a new track with a (variable) degree of distance from the original. Is this applicable to a (pop) architecture?Reworking a new version of this exhibit asked for a deeper investigation into the client’s nature. Kale is made of many brands and their (alchemic?) combination results in a multilayered composition, attractive in its complexity. This relationship between similar but different identities belonging to the same family is visually expressed using Mendeleev’s periodic table as an appropriate reference. Also - boosting the previous version’s spatial and formal concepts - products are displayed in an immersive environment where abstract ironic styling and... A switch of mind | Kale Group @ CERSAIE 2017 |

An adaptable skeleton wrapped in a translucent skin delivers iconic visual communication and a continuous landscape of ceramic surfaces.Designed for Kale Group – worldwide manufacturer of ceramic tiles and porcelain stoneware – the stand has the aim to qualify the identity of the company. The space is divided in five exhibition areas - each dedicated to a different brand belonging to Kale - linked by a central space for lounging and meeting. The company’s request for a low budget solution with high visual impact informed the design process, driving its focus on the idea of versatility as a conceptual frame. The result was a low-definition modular skeleton made by painted wood, wrapped in a semi-transparent digital printed fabric skin. This... More

Framing | RC pavillion @ Cersaie 2014 |

Framing is the concept. Here all the ceramic models are exhibited as singular unique pieces in three thematic rooms. And the whole interior space is framed from the outside as a compact dense volume just leaving slight introspections. The architectonic geometry - matched with a graphic treatment of the surfaces – it’s crossed by a subtle vibration thanks to the optical effect created by the triple staining of the vertical elements. According to the side you are looking at, the pavilion outer surfaces appear as a continuum of vertical lines with a different chromatic identity. Red and purple if you look to one direction, red and grey if you look to the other. Splitting the inside from the outside – thus avoiding the shop window effec... More
