The Lighthouse Project
The Lighthouse Project involved the restoration and repurposing of the Grade II listed St Michael’s Church in Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne. Designed by Bradley McClure Architects and delivered by Eden London UK Ltd, the project transformed the disused church into a youth and community hub with music studios, art spaces and flexible facilities for charities and community groups. A contemporary timber framed extension provides a new reception and dedicated youth space, while the wider development includes landscaped play areas and a sports pitch.

St Leonard’s Church
Lo studio di architettura John Puttick Associates, con sede a Londra, ha completato la ristrutturazione della chiesa di St Leonard, di Grado II, a Hove, una località balneare sulla costa meridionale dell'Inghilterra. La struttura rinnovata presenta un portico contemporaneo in legno lamellare (glued laminated timber) con un tetto in zinco ad aggraffatura verticale. Il nuovo portico è stato progettato per incarnare la natura accogliente della chiesa.

New Disciples Community Church
Recently, churches have been performing a role not only as puritanical churches but also as local community facilities. If a church that performs such an intermediate role overwhelms the surroundings with its ornate appearance, it would be absolutely not possible to avoid friction with the surroundings. We thought that urban churches would need to look simple in order to be considerate of neighbors and such formative simplicity in the busy downtown landscape could rather bring stronger symbolism.

North West Bible Church
In the 1970’s, a new highway was planned to encircle the metro Tucson area along the Pantano Wash. Christ Community Church purchased property along this new route, and had a new campus designed to encircle a tall prayer tower. Like many master plans, things didn’t pan out as planned. The highway was not built, and the prayer tower was never completed.

Through the years the church grew in size and in the campus buildings, but growth deviated from the original plan and took on a disorganized fashion, which the current congregation has to deal with on a daily basis. The Sarang Community Church
The building site of [The Sarang Church] is facing the 40m road on north. Since it is located at northern corner of the block, it is the first object that the car drivers will recognize right after they get out of the tunnel. Moreover, the site has an atypical triangular shape so that we decided to follow the atypical mass which is corresponding to shape of the site rather than adjusting the efficient rectangular plans. Then, we facilitate the required programs of church into the atypical mass form.

Architect Jan Říčný of Prague-based RCNKSK on the construction of Our Lady of Sorrows chapel
La cappella della Madonna Addolorata a Nesvačilka, un villaggio del distretto di Brno-Country nella regione della Moravia meridionale della Repubblica Ceca, si ispira ai metodi di costruzione medievali. Progettata dallo studio di architettura RCNKSK di Praga, la forma della cappella combina un approccio tradizionale con le moderne capacità tecnologiche. Costruita con travi sbozzate a mano, un'intricata struttura lamellare in legno, pietra e terra battuta, la cappella dell'Addolorata è un punto di riferimento nobile ma modesto del villaggio.

Lo studio di architettura londinese John Puttick Associates ha completato la ristrutturazione della chiesa di San Leonardo a Hove, una località balneare sulla costa meridionale dell'Inghilterra (parte della città di Brighton e Hove). Bethel Evangelical Church
The new Lutheran church of Piliscsaba, located in an accessible place for the residents of the settlement, proclaims the mission statement of the Lutheran Church on the corner of Széchenyi Street and Szent László Street: "Visibly Lutheran." From a liturgical perspective, it is a unified, central space, with a ceiling adorned with point-like light sources arranged in the shape of stars, symbolically representing the vault (Heaven) of the entire created world.

The Church of the "INLIGHT" is a late spatial narrative of the Gothic Church in the abstraction of the sensory-intellectual proportion of the geometric and sacred space of architecture. It is an effort to revitalize the flexible and unrestricted spatial quality of the church to focus on the proportions of man and the built environment. By creating a spatial opening in the central axis, this church attempts to watch, what is invisible, what can be described as a form of conceptual reading, and represents the inherent liberty of the human soul, body, and mind in Christian intention.

Simple abstraction and minimalist detailing define the uplifting Jinan Changzhuang Church
Simple and minimal, the church space of the Jinan Changzhuang Church by Archipoetry Studio is abstracted into a basic building block. With limited decoration, structural design was carefully considered from the outset with the architect controlling the column spacing and column cross-sections to ensure the main hall presents a classical, symmetrical and rhythmic spatial atmosphere.

Memphremagog Lake House sources church architecture as inspiration
This contemporary home by architects naturehumaine is located on a steep site on the shores of Lake Memphremagog, Quebec. The wooded location is not far from the Franciscan monks’ abbey in St-Benoit-du-Lac. In addition to general architectural principles of church architecture, the nearby monastery and its latest addition by Dan Hanganu - with its large volumes, vertical proportions, neutral grey stone exterior and zenithal light - were sources of design inspiration.

Madrid’s SMG Church by Ramon Fernandez-Alonso combines varying urban contexts
In San Sebastian de los Reyes, Madrid, this compact building for hybrid use of the SMG Church responds to two very different realities and contexts. The first context is that of the valley, where the church generates a volume in response to neighbouring commercial facilities, along with large commercial and leisure containers. The second context is the urban fabric of the surrounding residential city to which the church exposes its program of classrooms and houses. The exterior maintains a rhythm and proportion of openings that resemble the buildings that it faces.

Chiesa di Maria Santissima del Rosario
Le prime fonti storiche collocano la costruzione di questo edificio religioso nella prima metà del XVII secolo, parte del monastero di clausura di San Giuseppe a Fasano. Nel 2016 la facciata dell’edificio è stata oggetto di un restauro condotto dall’architetto Angela Sabatelli: nello specifico è stata effettuata una pulizia della superficie lapidea locale in tufo riportando la facciata all’originario colore chiaro tipico di questo materiale.
L’architetto Sabatelli ha curato anche l’intervento illuminotecnico scegliendo gli apparecchi da incasso della famiglia Bright e i proiettori da esterno Pivot.
