TORINO XX OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES

The project consistently uses a number of distinguishing elements in keeping with the city’s architectural and town-planning characteristics. No multi-coloured blowups or advertising slogans, but large printed banners and three-dimensional installations in one colour, vermilion red, with an unfussy graphic design. A simple, coordinated image that goes well and blends with the metal elements, big austere yet dynamic structures painted the same vermilion red, that punctuate the nodal points in the city and along the Olympic routes. TORINO XXIII WINTER UNIVERSIADE

The project defines a new image of the city of Turin for 2007, characterized by a new colour, sulphur yellow. Inspired by the Look of the City of Olympic Turin, the project has created a series of interconnected episodes of great communicative power, through installations placed in the university district and the cultural areas of the city. The installations are characterized by the large metal elements with the constructive rigour typical of industrial semi-finished products, which are combined with the freer forms of the “Follies”: active structures made of light, movements and dynamic messages, featuring images that change between day and night. Look of the City 2011: segnaletica e comunicazione, Totem 150 / Officine Grandi Riparazioni

TORINO 2011 – 150° unification of Italy URBAN & GRAPHIC DESIGN, 2010 – Torino (Italy) Italo Lupi, Ico Migliore and Mara Servetto, Italian architects, won the competition for the LOOK OF THE CITY of Torino, a special urban outfit on the occasion of the celebration for the 150th anniversary of Italy's Unification. The three architects dressed the first Italian capital city with thousands of banners, fabric posters, flags and other decorative elements that appeared along the avenues, in the streets and on the façades of the city's buildings. EXPO 2015: FLAGS BOULEVARD

Italo Lupi, Ico Migliore, Mara Servetto – on the occasion of Expo 2015 – have been commissioned to conceive an urban communication installation representing the Nations that, four years before the opening ceremony, have already joined the international event. The national ensigns are displayed in an original way in the Flags Boulevard lining up along C.so Vittorio Emanuele, Via dei Mercati, Via Dante and piazza Cordusio in Milan, walking arteries that link the Duomo (Milan Cathedral) and the Castello Sforzesco (Sforza Castle).
