Migliore + Servetto
Migliore+Servetto, founded in 1997 by Ico Migliore and Mara Servetto, is an Italian design studio based in Milan that has produced over 550 projects in 21 countries, receiving prestigious international awards, including 13 Red Dot Design Awards and threeCompassi d'Oro. Always striving to create innovative spaces that present a new concept of hospitality and inclusiveness, with a view to social innovation, its projects combine cultural and commercial aspects, with special attention also paid to urban interior design.The Studio’s activity is complemented by research at an international level. In fact, Ico Migliore is Professor at Politecnico di Milanoand Chair Professor at Dongseo University in Busan (South Korea), while Mara Servetto is Visiting Professor at Joshibi University of Art and Design in Tokyo.
The companies and institutions that have relied on the Studio include those such as Max Mara, for which M+S designed the international traveling exhibition 'Coats!', launched in Berlin in 2006 with other stops in Tokyo, Beijing and Moscow before arriving in Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul in 2017, and other international companies such as Tod’s, Giorgio Armani, Adidas, Lexus, Samsung, Whirlpool, Bombardier, New York Times, Wallpaper*. Migliore+Servetto’s signature can be found on interventions for some of the main cultural destinations in Italy and all over the world, such as the Egyptian Museum in Turin, the Miramare Museum in Trieste, the Chopin Museum in Warsaw and the ADI Design Museum in Milan. On the occasion of the XXII Triennale, "Broken Nature”, the Studio designed the Italian Pavilion, "4 Elements /Taking Care", for which Ico Migliore oversaw the art direction and was also co-curator.
Migliore+Servetto also oversaw the complete project for the exhibition design of the entire fair area and each of the booths at the Beijing Design Fair in Beijing, China (2012). In terms of urban design, M+S has designed two projects in Busan, South Korea: the Blue Line Park in Busan and the Waterfront Door / Into the Ocean. Recently, the Firm designed the spaces of the new headquarters of The Human Safety Net, the Generali Group’s Social Foundation, inside the Procuratie Vecchie in Piazza San Marco in Venice. www.miglioreservetto.com
