Town Hall and Community Center

The extension of the historic town hall in Holzwickede offered the opportunity to merge the market square in terms of urban development and to give the town hall itself a new wholeness. The listed town hall, built in 1915, was preserved and recognizable as a solitary structure. At the same time, an angular structure was added to it in such a way that a new urban solitaire was created in which the existing building is a self-evident part of the larger whole. Brigida González The new town hall develops around a central hall with square skylights, whose sculpturally modeled walls create a charming daylight situation. The hall forms the foyer of the citizens' hall, is the contact point of the citizens' service, a central place of c... More
Mariupol is called the Greek capital of Ukraine, its history is closely connected with Greek culture, and the name with the prefix -pol speaks for itself. The word “Demos” comes from Greece, and it means the people.
The ancient Greek system which calls the “Order” system, is a constructive system that allows you to create large spans without additional supports. Mariupol Order – a modern interpretation of the Order system, a descendant of a democratic Greek society.
The building consists of two spatial volumes. They are independent, but at the same time connected by a large atrium, where an amphitheater and an open staircase are located.
The usage of “Mariupol order” provides an open-plan building, there are no internal columns. The ground floor is the city reception, a comfortable open space without dark corridors to serve the needs of citizens.

Galleries work as in-between spaces and project is a great combination of outdoor, semi-open and indoors. Also the project work in two scales with the city. Etterbeek City Hall

Context and ambition
The new Etterbeek City Hall is located in front of a main road, on Casernes Avenue, in the context of an urban development initiated by the commune on the site called « the Hunting Gardens ». It’s an exceptional opportunity to renew a neighbourhood, a part of the city, and also an opportunity to create a dynamic image for an urban commune.     Site plan   We opted for a clear and open layout for the buildings, favouring lines of communication between the existing neighbourhood and the site’s new development. The communal house was positioned on the corner between Casernes Avenue and Beckers Street for maximum visibility. A pedestrian path that crosses the project was proposed in order to link the future park with the... More
