MOLSION Concept Store by Some Thoughts

This project centers on an innovative interplay between two contrasting materials: felt and metal. Connected by custom triangular fasteners, these disparate materials are integrated and recontextualized. This juxtaposition softens the cold, austere quality of metal while unleashing the sculptural, three-dimensional potential of felt. By introducing felt as a modular element within the spatial narrative, the design transcends conventional material boundaries, achieving a balanced, symbiotic relationship. SFAP SFAP Using the custom triangular fastener as a standardized foundation, the design establishes an integrated, modular display system. This uniform modular framework and standardized connection method give rise to a versatile... More

Voyager Craft Coffee St John

San Francisco-based Studio BANAA has completed Voyager Craft Coffee’s newest location in Downtown San José: Voyager St. John. Occupying the former Scott’s Seafood space, this compact café layers bold color, custom millwork, and graphic murals into what the designers describe as “a condensed maximalist environment.” Referencing both 1980s Italian Memphis Design and the surreal energy of Pee-wee’s Playhouse, Studio BANAA approached the 1,000-square-foot space as a full-volume composition - treating walls, floors, ceilings, and fixtures as a single, interconnected canvas.  Mikiko Kikuyama Mikiko Kikuyama The design approach started with unfolding the linear space into a longitudinal... My Front Yard

My Front Yard is a retail community that utilizes space that is traditionally neglected in commercial architecture. By prioritizing roof tops, open-air circulation and neighborhood planning, the project avoids the monolithic "big box" retail approach for decentralized, low-rise pavilions that invite exploration and curiosity. Architectkidd Situated in front of a hillside in Phuket, the layout of My Front Yard utilizes a non-linear arrangement of buildings. By breaking the retail program into smaller blocks, Architectkidd created a series of courtyards and landscaped pockets. Ground-level paths along with an elevated bridge encourage users to adopt a leisurely and pedestrian environment. Voids and laneways between buildings and the inc... More

Take a look

The investors were looking for a bold concept, which is why we decided to wink at the customers visiting the place, says Karol Pasternak, architect and partner at NOKE Architects. He refers to the latest NOKE Architect project – the unusual interior of the TAKE A LOOK optician salon in the modernized part of Warsaw's Wola district. The project was inspired by the brand's humorous name.  Piotr Maciaszek TAKE A LOOK is an optician salon with select ranges of brand-name eyeglass frames. As it has two glass storefronts on the street side, the goal of the NOKE designers was to create an interior that would tempt passers-by and entice them to step inside. LUCKY WORLD Lottery

Space Transformation The space of LUCKY WORLD is long and narrow, and a straightforward division into three business areas would have resulted in an isolated experience. Instead, through analysis of each business’s operational needs, we restructured the space around the interplay of open and private zones. The curved, full-height shelf displaying China Farm products acts as both a divider and an integrator, weaving the various functions together. Inspired by the form and motion of a lottery ball, the curved layout and fluid circulation unify the three business areas. This approach transforms LUCKY WORLD into “A UNIVERSE” where each business retains its identity while remaining interactive. – A Space with Lucky Ener... More

Spring Park

In a moment of decline in urban foot traffic, this project was tasked with reconsidering what a new urban retail destination might look like.  Considering the importance of “experience” as an attractor, and considering the programmatic need to build up, the question became how to attract visitors both to the site, as well as up through its levels. asap/ adam sokol architecture practice Recognizing the immersive quality of outdoor sun-drenched plantings as being quintessential to LA, the project draws on the timeless ideal of a “hanging garden” by deploying a mix of indoor and outdoor spaces, hardscapes and greenscapes, and a lyrical, spiraling red stair to draw eyes and feet upward.   asap/ adam so...
