Contemporary living room

Our design for this house began with a sketch of a tree. On paper, the trunk anchored the site and the branches reached out to the landscape. That simple motif – a living heart that organizes the plan and frames the views – guided every subsequent decision. We wanted the house to be both refuge and viewpoint: a sanctuary that draws you inward and a frame that opens to mountains and sky.  Planning around a living courtyard The first challenge was how to lay out a generous family home without losing intimacy.  The kitchen is always the heart of the home and originally the kitchen was inaccessible to the other living spaces. With this remodel, we made the kitchen the heart of the home again and connected the spaces proximity wise and you can see all the spaces in one spot –nice for hosting and just living there as a family. In the living room design, a circular shelf is designed under the stairs leading down to the 2-storey gallery. This circular approach continues in design ceiling designs. Caption The hall consists of 3 zones: living area, dining area and breakfast area which is connected to kitchen. The breakfast area designed in front of the kitchen is semi-openly separated from the main dining table in the 2-floor-high volume with vertical elements. A contemporary living room inside a modern house where light reigns supreme. A mix of light colors and wood make the environment comfortable and welcoming.  Caption Zeno by Flexform is a sofa with a linear and clear design. It features a particular arm in metal tubing coverend with cowhide, a striking design idea that takes on the form of a small wing. Zeno is low-set, with upholstery that almost reaches the floor, and soft cushions for seat and back.
