Noorderparkbar

Cafe in Amsterdam North, made out of 100% e-Bay materials. The ‘Noorderparkkamer’ runs projects to improve social cohesion in Amsterdam North. It does this with great succes. To give room for a small cafe next to their ‘office’ we designed the Noorderparkbar. Completely constructed out of second hand materials from ‘marktplaats’ (the dutch e-Bay) the design is both low in costs and easy to construct. Still has a ‘wicked’ look though. More

Tully's Coffee Shop Remm Kagoshima

Tully's Coffee Shop -Remm Kagoshima is located on the first floor of the high-grade hotel built in the typical shopping quarter "Tenmonkan" in Kagoshima. Thus, Tully’s was required to upgrade the facilities from the comparable Tully’s shops and correspond to providing breakfasts to the hotel guests. Operator came out with the following conclusion. "Create new design", and "Collaborate with famous bakery in the local district." Though this answer may appear simple, imagine various difficult problems that this brand had to develop and to overcome. As a result, the good smell from the bakery and the fresh baked bread brought new added value not only to the hotel guests’ breakfast supports but also to all-time visitors who use Tully’s coffee... Rapid Type Coffee Pod

After months of research into why prefabrication has not been the glowing success everyone claimed it would be, we developed our answer: mix prefabrication with the current trend of mobile food trucks. We built the first prototype, Rapid Type: A Mobile Coffee platform, in the Fall of 2010 as part of a studio I offered with Andre Caradec (S/tudio U/nder M/anufacture) at California College of the Arts. We were given a generous donation of Alpolic, a unique aluminum composite material manufactured by Mitsubishi Plastics, Inc. To explore the full potential of the material, we decided to co-teach an experimental design studio with one goal: push the material as far as possible within the limits of currently available CNC fabrication technolog... Kith Cafe¦ü

The concept for Kith Café was inspired by a simple phrase from the Japanese film, Be with you. It translates into “would you care to have coffee with me sometime?” a plain and sincere question that has the power to turn strangers into kith and kin. It was not just a matter of coming up with a Kith Café, but creating a complete experience. This meant no fancy lampshades, mass-manufactured furniture, or unnecessarily printed materials were to be used in its interior. Instead, the focus was on delivering an unassuming space that could support Kith’s honest philosophy and ethos. Upon entering the quaint 28 square meter space, customers could choose to sit on a long, tall communal bar table on the left seating or a low bench area on the... More

The public area comes as a wide area in his whole, punctuated by the furniture, and for the "precious stone", (deprived area) creating a harmonious conviviality. It was done a plastic treatment in the walls of the public area to maximize an effect cénico, wants in the operation of the day, wants in the nigth operation. The deprived area. it is bounded by a structure covered internally by... More
