Site plan / plot The house was built on a large plot picturesquely cut between 2 belts of forest, in the village of Złotów in Lower Silesia. The plot is a elongated rectangle stretched in the SE - NW direction surrounded by forest. Designed building was placed on the longitudinal axis of the plot stretching in the SE - NW direction. Nixon house is a 4 bedroom property which has been cleverly designed to resemble a collection of modernised barns. To achieve this, the 3 wings of the building have been organised in an offset arrangement. The orientation of the buildings have been calculated to maximise views and solar gain. Their almost perpendicular configuration breaks up the massing and makes the property appear smaller. In addition this creates partially enclosed courtyard spaces at both the front and rear of the property. A farmhouse, a garage and a weedy lawn on a slight slope are the existing elements of a property between the hills of Gavi’s terrotory. The project is characterized by four elements: a wooden sleepers pavement laying like an embroidery texture, a clay canopy with an iron structure covering an open-air living room, a bio-pool with a stone-wall following the different slopes of the ground and a perfectly mowed flat circle lawn at the center of a slanting flower garden. noa* was commissioned by IDM Alto Adige to develop the concept for a new trade fair stand to represent the soul of the South Tyrolean region for the "Berlin Travel Festival".    The pavilion aims to convey the idea of authenticity, quality, nature, sustainability, tradition and innovation: essential points for today's travelers and for modern tourism.   A modular pavilion, quick to assemble and dissemble, in order to easily change location, that carries its stories everywhere and allows guests to get a taste of what South Tyrol is like. The house constructed by DIA – Dittel Architekten blends into the context of a historical country estate dating from the Middle Ages. The listed property is located in a rural setting in South Germany, which is characterized by natural areas and agricultural land. The new building is positioned orthogonally to the historical barn and to the road on the estate, so that it fits in with the alignment of the existing courtyard buildings. Built at the beginning of the XX century, Casa San Polo is an antique rural house located at the heart of the beautiful countryside of San Polo di Piave, close to Treviso. The original structure was made up of three floors. The lowest two floors were habitable, whereas the attic was used as a granary. This way of using the space is a typical feature of rural dwellings of that time, characterized by a steep central staircase and a symmetric development of the rooms. The house, abandoned for several years, totally lacked the roofing: all the wooden parts of the floors were completely damaged and also the masonry walls were compromised. Built by a Venetian noble family (e.g. Crotta) Casa Crotta, (former Dalle Crode, Tibolet) is likely an ancient hunting lodge of the XVII century. The house is part of the Regional Institute of Venetian Villas list and is situated in Arfanta’s hamlet, between the Tarzo’s hills, and is the first of series of rural buildings right in front of the municipal road. From a typological perspective, two distinctive floors compose the house but the habitative one is at the top. This is a characteristic that well explain the type of use for which the building was originally built (hunting lodge), because the house used to be exploited occasionally for few hours a day. The project is part of a family courtyard, providing a direct ground floor connection with it and maintaining the typical roof typology on the northern front. On the opposite side the flat-roof volume containing the bedroom and the living room pushes itself towards the open countryside, rising in height to ensure a new level of privacy and to allow the entrance path below it, through a large covered terrace. The point of contact between the two main volumes is solved through a portion of inclined roof facing south and holding the photovoltaic system; on the northern side a large window diffuses the light in the loft area through the wooden beams.
