Vlietland Hospital Schiedam
Vlietland Hospital stems from a merger of two hospitals in Vlaardingen and Schiedam (the Netherlands). EGM architects designed a highly flexible building that can properly anticipate fluctuations in functions. The hospital has a colourful, friendly and very human character defined by natural materials, abundant natural light and outdoor access.The main goal was to create a warm people-friendly atmosphere. Therefore we chose a shallow oblong building that is spread out over the site like a folding ruler. Instituut Verbeeten
As a specialist hospital, the Verbeeten Institute provides top clinical care in the areas of radiotherapeutic oncology and nuclear medicine. It supplies tailor-made care, with every effort focusing on the patient and his experience. That's why patients and employees have been directly involved in the design. In part, their input has led to the building as it is today: a building with a Healing Environment, friendly, safe and transparent. Hanzeborg Multifunctional Carecentre
Close to the train station in Lelystad the Hanzeborg nursing home is situated, a contemporary yet timeless and remarkable building. EGM used the initial design as the basis for this building. A building where care, services and activities all come together. It is the combination of different disciplines which gives strength to the complex. Hanzeborg has a strong position within the local urban dependency.In the present social context, a private healthcare is no longer restricted to just one location. However, care should remain easily accessible. Therefore, in the design phase, the relationship between interactive facilities was kept in check.
