Two Residencies in Paros

On a gently sloping site in Paros, two new single-storey residences are carefully embedded into the Cycladic landscape. Designed by Constantine Bouras Studio, the project occupies a plot of 11,060 sqm and explores how contemporary domestic architecture can coexist with the scale, materiality, and spatial logic of the island without resorting to literal references. Constantine Bouras Studio   Constantine Bouras Studio Constantine Bouras Studio The two houses are placed in contact with one another, forming a unified architectural composition articulated through eight distinct volumes. Their arrangement emerges directly from the natural slope of the terrain. The volumes shift back and forth in plan and step subtly in sect... More

Gremnos House

The Gremnos House project includes the reconstruction of an existing traditional cell (cell from the word keli in Greek) built before 1955, and the design of a main residence and an independent guesthouse, thoughtfully integrated into a rugged landscape characterized by striking geological formations. The site’s unique topography presented the greatest challenge, as the new structures needed to be placed on the limited flat areas between the rocks, preserving and highlighting the natural formations rather than altering them. Excavations were carried out with meticulous care to avoid disrupting the natural landscape. Vangelis Paterakis Vangelis Paterakis Vangelis Paterakis The main residence comprises two stone volumes... Vacation House in Sikinos

This project presents a two-level residence nestled in the heart of the traditional village of Sikinos on Sikinos Island. The structure deploys as a single volume arranged over two levels, connected by an external staircase that seamlessly integrates indoor and outdoor living. Constantine Bouras Studio   The volume of the residence balances solidity and lightness through material contrasts: a whitewashed stone base grounds the design, while the upper volume’s smooth plaster finish conveys subtle elegance. Constantine Bouras Studio The ground floor embraces the daily living spaces—living room, kitchen, and dining area—opening directly onto a shaded courtyard designed for outdoor living. The private quarter... More

Beach House Kea

Located on the western side of the island of Kea, this subterranean summer house is a conversion that echoes the building's rich history. Initially used as an old stone warehouse, leveraging its proximity to the sea and the sheltered bay for maritime transport of goods, it was later turned into a seaside restaurant. Bringing it into its new era, together with architect Christos Vlachos, we transformed the building into a barefoot luxury summer house, preserving its existing exterior shell while completely redesigning the interior to fit its new purpose. Giorgos Sfakianakis Giorgos Sfakianakis Sculpted into the sinuous contours of the bay, the building feels deeply rooted in the landscape with its curvy layout, green roof, and us... More

Louria

The plot is in the southern part of Paros Island. It has a southwest orientation on the long side, overlooking the sea, the bay of Aliki, and Antiparos. The building rests on the hillside and adapts to the topography and the terrain's morphology. Large transverse walls penetrate the slope. These walls form the backyards and give continuity to the interior of the house towards the landscape. Panagiotis Voumvakis Spaces created between the walls, define the entrance, organize the garden, and give space for a water element and a sheltered courtyard. Sigurd Larsen designs a Cycladic island home with Escher-like stairways

In the Greek island of Kythnos, a cluster of white cuboid volumes sit on the hillside of a wild and grassy peninsula projecting out into an azure sea. The newly built construction, named Piperi House, was completed by Sigurd Larsen Design & Architecture and overlooks the Cyclades, an archipelago in the southern Aegean Sea. KKROM KKROM The design of Piperi House was inspired by traditional Cycladic villages, where differently-sized vernacular white cubes are stitched together by a labyrinth of narrow streets and whitewashed, stepped alleyways. “Like a crystalline sculpture cut out of a single piece of white stone, the monolithic volumes contrast with the dry landscape of burnt brown and green hues,” says Si... Anax Hotel 5* Resort & SPA

Anax Resort is situated in Agios Iannis, a perfect Cycadic village in the west side of the island. With views towards the island of Delos and the sunset, the hotel showcases an unconventional “made in Greece “concept of luxury.  The main concept: to create a private oasis were the water element is constantly present. Here came the idea of an organic shape pool, naturally embracing the small beach laying above the resort, split in two by a long stair leading to the beach. Passing through the path surrounded by the two pools overflows, like two waterfalls, we suddenly discover the Jacuzzi, a rounded structure that overflows onto itself, creating under it an incredible space were we created the beach showers area.  Unde...
