Our task here was to create a contemporary space within an existing one that dates back to 1960. The town’s municipal gymnasium and theatre formed a historical whole, but the site’s sports facilities needed to be modernised to host major competitions and cultural events. Eugeni Pons A desire for architectural coherence and respect for the existing built heritage guided our approach. So, we preserved the stone wall that gave visual structure to the whole site and that now serves as a link between periods of time. In the city of Sedhiou there are no designated places where local culture can be handed down, therefore there is a need to create a cultural center that serves three main functions:-Education-Exhibitions-Performances NEAR project The project is divided into two main concepts:-the open space is defined by the volumes that host the main activities, and is protected by a mangrove sun shading system, six meters above;-the boundaries between inside and outside are non-defined which allows access from all directions, similarly to how art and culture can be interpreted: human activity is a continuous evolution that is open to everyone. In Summer 2018, t-sa began working with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), as they prepared to relocate from existing premises on Battersea Square to a new purpose-built global headquarters located only a short distance away. The new HQ  was to inhabit the ground and first floors of a high-rise residential development designed by another architect. Revitalizing a storied structure in a small town, a historic train depot gets a new life as a colorful, dynamic dance studio. Brad Feinknopf In the small upstate New York town of Accord, a 1902 train depot remained a local landmark over the years, despite changing times and uses. The historic structure was one of several nearly identical depots dotted along the local train line, many of which remain today. The Accord Depot had many past lives – as a bed and breakfast, and most recently, a restaurant  as a community arts center, an ice cream shop, and most recently, a brief stint as a restaurant – which meant it endured many numerous incomplete and uninspired renovations over the years, slowly falling into disrepair.... Disco Distancia is a project that was featured during the Mextropoli Architecture Festival at the Los Pinos Cultural Center in Mexico City, Mexico.  The open-air pavilion pays tribute to local dance groups that gather in public spaces throughout Mexico City, but haven’t been able to practice their craft during the ongoing pandemic.  The various sculptures arranged in the public plaza project shadows into the ground creating an effect of a party which invites new visitors to join in and experience different dance styles throughout the pavilion.     Caption The main concept of the pavilion is to use shadows as a way to represent people, their body movements, and various dance styles that used to take place in p... This is the refurbishment of a building built in 1965 along one of the main streets leading from the historic centre to the suburbs. A large construction that uses to host shops and apartments now is transformed into a dance school.The project focused on the strengths of the existing building: large volumes, horizontality, distinction between structure and perimeter walls, juxtaposition between voids and masses. Inside the project maintains the original commercial character, and thanks to few and careful actions it gains four wide rooms, changing rooms and waiting rooms. More

molo is very pleased to be able to share images from Escaping the Weight of Darkness, a work commissioned and performed by the National Ballet of Japan. Premiered in Tokyo, the performance uses custom-made cloud softlights constructed from molo’s modified textile material.molo’s work with Jessica Lang began in 2011 when she was commissioned to create a new work for the Birmingham Royal Ballet. Discovering molo products while doing research, she instigated an artistic collaboration with molo’s founders, Stephanie Forsythe + Todd MacAllen.
