45° Grid House

For a family of 4, we designed a new home. Their desire: a home that is surprising in space and experience, with the right balance of lighting and materials. The home needed to provide a context, a blank canvas for the builders' hobby of collecting art and design.  Tim Van De Velde These wishes were translated into a geometric plan composed of a succession of square spaces, placed at a 45° angle. Each room was hereby given a different function and is accessible via the connecting space. As a result, no useful surface is lost to circulation areas. You have to discover the house, room by room. In the core of the building we placed a patio. This allows natural daylight to penetrate deep into the house. In addition, it crea... More

Silver Lining

This project is a multi-level residence embraced by lush forest greenery. In terms of spatial planning, the design breaks away from existing structural limitations to reestablish the architectural framework. Inspired by Louis Kahn’s concept of “served” and “servant” spaces, the design clearly defines the functions and order of each zone through form and spatial hierarchy, thereby redefining a new sense of balance. Hey!cheese At the heart of the layout, the staircase stands as a geometric structure reminiscent of folded paper. Its sharp folds, sculptural volume, and distinctive linear texture act as a central thread that weaves emotional connections among family members. White is more than just a color &m... More

Zen And White

Space is the stage of life, the nexus of emotion, and the intersection between ideals and reality.Every object carries meaning—through the narrative of daily life, these items blur the boundaries between ourselves and the world around us. This seamless integration allows us to naturally immerse in the environment. Our sensitivity to detail and pursuit of quality are reflected in our interactions with these objects, expressing care for life and a deep respect for our surroundings. Hey!cheese Hey!cheese Hey!cheese Hey!cheese Hey!cheese The design is driven by the concept of “redefining the everyday.”By clearly identifying functional needs, reconfiguring the layout, and maximizing natural light, the... 75 Degree White

The interior of this design contains 75% white space. The use of different materials creates a simple but sophisticated design. Additionally, using gray floors and black furniture emphasizes the overall visual effect, as well as the purity and flawlessness of white.  Hey!cheese Owners appreciate the transparency and pure atmosphere that white creates in their indoor space. White is boldly integrated into daily life, with a focus on the flow of each area. With the method of removing volume, not only does it better meet the needs of the owners, but it also increases the fluidity of vision and moving lines. With pure white walls, the indoor environment is more stress-free and comfortable. Hey!cheese The overall color system is... More

CityBay

“City Bay” residential complex is an example of balance between nature and the urban environment; the dynamic rhythm of city life and calm flow of the river. The variable height of the buildings, gradually rising from the river to the city, and the blending of dense natural materials like brick and stone with sleek glass and metal emphasize a continuity and coexistence of urban and natural environments. The overall structure of the complex is built on a hybrid axial scheme, organizing public, semi-private, and private spaces.  Caption A wide boulevard, which connects two groups of high-rise towers in the east and west, is the central axis of the complex. Along it are children’s playgrounds, recreational areas wi... More

Nixon House

Nixon house is a 4 bedroom property which has been cleverly designed to resemble a collection of modernised barns. To achieve this, the 3 wings of the building have been organised in an offset arrangement. The orientation of the buildings have been calculated to maximise views and solar gain. Their almost perpendicular configuration breaks up the massing and makes the property appear smaller. In addition this creates partially enclosed courtyard spaces at both the front and rear of the property. Traditional and natural materials such as flint and timber have been proposed to clad the exterior facades, which respectfully integrates the building into the natural environment. Solar shading has been added to prevent over heating and direct s... More

Black Diamond House

Situated on an urban infill site, this house builds on Buffalo’s rich architectural heritage, with works by Frank Lloyd Wright and H.H. Richardson only steps away. But rather than looking only to the past, the house offers a model for twenty-first central urban life, with a soaring interior space organized around views, nature and daylight. At the same time, the exterior respects the massing and rhythm of the historic neighborhood in which it is situated. Caption So as to fit into the urban context, the design began with the exterior volume of the house that previously occupied this site and burned down. From this starting point, adjustments were made to accommodate programmatic priorities: one wall was angles back six degrees... More

Restelo 12

The always present concept behind the development of this residence was to create a whole well-being, family-driven space under the idea of the Four Elements. Earth, Water, Air and Fire. This idea is visible all throughout the project - in the plantation of aromatics, on the internal and external pools, on the large platforms from where the Tagus river and Almada can be seen, and also on the several fireplaces distributed through the levels. With a total floor area of 825sqm, the residence is divided into 4 levels and is a part of a 985sqm. More
