Restaurante Urbane México

The main feature of this project is dynamism, both spatial and formal.Behind a rectangular volume there are many sloping lines. Surprises along the way are the result. Ethelett Distribution. The Urbane Mexico restaurant is on a corner, between a main street and a secondary one. Local regulations require not to build in a five-meter strip on the front of the property. We used this space as parking and access. We occupied the remaining surface with the two-level restaurant. The ground floor dining area occupies a third of this level. The rest is made up of the lobby, the toilets, and the kitchen with its support areas. The upper floor only has dining area. We separated the restaurant a few meters from the rear limit. In this strip we... More

Elegant spiral staircase

Smooth entrance In this beautiful office building the grand staircase is the first thing you see. The interplay of lines of the stairs is enhanced by the rounded planters and balustrade.  The spiral staircases are made of steel, with a high, closed inner stringer. The bottom side of the staircase is finished completely flat, making it a free-standing sculpture.  Caption The steps are also made of steel and inlaid with wood. This gives warmth to the staircase, enhanced by the lighting installed in the spiral staircase.  Caption Rounded glass is used for the balustrades and the outer stringer. This ensures an optimal connection with the floor above, where the reception is.  More

Verandah Place Townhouse

This historic carriage house on Verandah Place in Carroll Gardens, dating back to the late 1800s, had undergone several unsympathetic renovations over the years, leaving only the original facade intact. Our clients, a young couple with three children, envisioned a home that felt both open and airy, yet still intimate. To bring this vision to life, we reimagined the layout to maximize natural light and carefully selected materials that foster warmth and harmony. Soft white walls, oak wood flooring, doors, and cabinetry create a seamless, inviting flow throughout the home. A striking, modern stairwell serves as both a light well and a central architectural feature, providing visual continuity and a sculptural focal point in the space. Be... More

Staircase cladding Stein am Rhein

In the Swiss town of Stein am Rhein a former scale factory was converted by the architects Baumgartner Partner Architekten for use as rental flats. Architectural Mesh is suitable for the renovation, expansion or modernization of existing buildings. As a modern design element, it can be used to connect old and new building structures – as a façade cladding, interior cladding or decorative protection. HAVER Architectural Mesh DOGLA-TRIO 1030 was used for the cladding of two wellholes. DOGLA-TRIO is a robust weave, which gets its structure from clusters of vertical wires. Due to its high inherent stability, it is suitable for the use as fall protection on façades, parapets or wellholes. One wire mesh element made of stai... More

Translucence House

This renovation and addition unravels a chapter of ill-considered renovations to create an urban retreat for a young family on a remarkable site. By re-using more than half of the original structure and improving the home's environmental performance, the project also minimizes the 4000 SF home’s embodied carbon and ongoing carbon footprint. Joe Fletcher The double-wide lot sits atop a bluff and next to a community garden, making for a rare condition in the heart of the city: a large, secluded site, overlooking the city and the bay. The site was filled and leveled in the early 1960’s to accommodate the original house and pool, the scene of legendary parties. Renovations by a subsequent owner led to a messy collection of roo... Wythicombe - glass staircase, glass bridge

This was a nice residential project which is featured by our all glass staircase, this time in float glass (with green shimmer), which is leading up to our glass bridges. They are supported by glass beams and therefore no steel frames or any other supportive material is required. This provides the most translucence and does not abstract the look of the wide surroundings behind the stairs. Into the basement leads a more traditional cut steel stringer staircase with a glass balustrade.  More

The translucense house

This nice feature all glass staircase was designed for an amazing residential project in San Francisco. The Translucence House, desigend by Fougeron Architecture is well thought through, from the outside and inside. Through our glass staircase you get a nice view over the city and to the sea. The staircase itself has a bronze tinted glass and most of the hardware is laminated inside the glass to provide clean uninterrupted surfaces, which look luxurious and are easy to clean. Further the staircase is leading up an all glass bridge which was also desigend and built by Siller Stairs.  More
