Smooth entrance In this beautiful office building the grand staircase is the first thing you see. The interplay of lines of the stairs is enhanced by the rounded planters and balustrade.  The spiral staircases are made of steel, with a high, closed inner stringer. The bottom side of the staircase is finished completely flat, making it a free-standing sculpture.  Caption The steps are also made of steel and inlaid with wood. This gives warmth to the staircase, enhanced by the lighting installed in the spiral staircase.  Caption Rounded glass is used for the balustrades and the outer stringer. This ensures an optimal connection with the floor above, where the reception is.  More

The client required a parking space on the ground floor and the installation of an elevator that connected all the floors of the house. The defined strategy is to place the stairs along the dividing wall, freeing the floor and turning it into a single open and bright space. The bioclimatic strategy of this house is to achieve good cross ventilation in the living plants, as well as to guarantee good adaptive sun protection with the installation of adjustable slat blinds. It is committed to an air conditioning system with maximum energy efficiency, as well as solar and photovoltaic panels for the production of hot water and electricity. The owner of this Washington DC row house requested a totally open space for entertaining, with a modern and warm ambiance. The fireplace wall and kitchen island became the two focal points that define the formal and informal gathering spaces. Dark porcelain tile and fumed larch surround the fireplace, while contrasting glossy white cabinets and a 15’ long Equatro marble island top centers the kitchen zone.The rear wall was replaced with sliding glass doors in order to physically and visually link the new rear deck with the interior spaces. DIN interiorismo´s submission for this office project focused on a design with the adequate range of movement and private spaces at the same time. The challenge to address was developing a dynamic area that allowed the users to work with plenty of space in a semi open area of 111 sq m.It is a project that stands out for its simple combination of elements and materials, where color and texture make the necessary contrast inviting to work.
