At the outset of the design process, the young couple, both working remotely from home, approached the project with a refreshingly open mindset. Rather than bringing a predetermined vision or detailed brief, they entrusted the design team with a blank canvas, allowing ideas to emerge organically through conversation and shared imagination. Their only clear desire was for the house to serve as a holistic space: a place that supports both their daily work routines and their evolving lifestyle as a growing family.

Spacy transforms a former row house into a destination for fruit lovers in Bangkok
Set within the Pridi Banomyong neighbourhood in Bangkok, Thailand, City Fresh is an architectural transformation of a regular row house into a welcoming space for fruit lovers by local architecture firm, Spacy. The venue is designed to be a lively destination where like-minded people can gather, interact and exchange ideas.

The structure features various low-key transparent materials to allow natural light into the space and develop layers that create visual textures. The first floor serves as a place for brief meetings. Temporary seatings with various fruits and fresh home-grown salads result in lush interiors.

Shenzhen Rural Commercial Bank Headquarters marks a new landmark in sustainable design
Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) reveals 150-meter-tall mixed-used tower in the central district of Bao’an Shenzhen. The intriguing design by SOM is in line with the firm’s rich tradition of integrating architectural design and structural engineering.

Core the design is a diagrid structure. Pulled away from the façade, the structure allows for a column-free exterior and interior, which affords maximum spatial flexibility and spectacular views, Adjacent to a public park and three blocks from the sea, a range of spectacular views can be seen from every floor. The diagrid serves an additional function as a sunscreen.

Ventilated Double Skin screen wall: A curtain wall system made of two glass membranes with external air flowing between them, which creates internal ventilation along the entire length of the building caused by the natural chimney effect. This system is suitable for buildings where the façade is continuous and allows any desired external geometry for the envelope. In the winter, the air intake system closes automatically which contributes to optimal insulation of the building's interior space. Between the two glass membranes there is an automatic shading system that controls the introduction of radiation and light. More
