The New American Remodel 2026

The New American Remodel (TNAR) 2026 sits in a major Orlando suburb known as Winter Park in Orange County, Florida, USA. The city, as it was originally planned for in the 1880s, was a respite for wealthy northerners who came to escape cold climates and to enjoy Florida’s lakes and warm weather. Eventually, Winter Park developed into the city it is today with a strong emphasis on nature, planning, and culture. Downtown Winter Park, features tree-lined and brick streets, scenic lakes and parks, and multi-million-dollar historic homes and impressive architecture. Courtesy of Phil Kean Design Group TNAR 2026 was originally built in the 1950s, updated in the 1990s, and now updated once more to encapsulate pre-1950’s tropical Mi... More

The Sign Edificio D

Located in the south-east area of Milan, The Sign Edificio D houses the new headquarters of L’Oréal Italia within the wider The Sign Business District. Extending across approximately 13,000 square metres over nine above-ground floors, the building is conceived as part of a larger urban regeneration framework. Its sustainability agenda operates at several levels: through the continuity it establishes with the public realm, the environmental performance embedded in its envelope, and the wider ecological strategy of the district in which it sits. Pinal County Attorney's Office

DLR Group was commissioned to design the new Pinal County Attorney’s Office as a new headquarters that would attract the best talent from neighboring counties. For its design of this five-story, 56,000-square-foot building—which sits adjacent to the Superior Courthouse—the firm drew inspiration from the saguaro cactus, whose iconic ribs shade its skin and allow it to thrive in the desert by preventing overheating. DLR Group translated this natural climate-response mechanism into a building-scale solution, leveraging principles of biomimicry. 10 educational facilities that prioritize energy self-sufficiency

The International Energy Agency (IEA) highlights that operating buildings accounts for “30 percent of global final energy consumption and 26 percent of global energy-related emissions.” The 26 percent figure equates to a combination of direct emissions (8 percent) from buildings themselves and indirect emissions (18 percent) from producing the electricity and heat that buildings use. Buildings that improve their energy efficiency (and self-sufficiency), particularly those that are energy-positive or energy-neutral, will, in addition to significantly lowering costs, improve air quality and comfort levels for their users: in effect, improving the overall health and vitality of people. A number of factors are related to energy eff... More
