The interiors feature a light and natural color palette, with oak parquet that adds warmth and uniformity to the spaces, complemented by custom-made oak furniture. The spacious living-dining area opens onto the garden, where the white walls and surfaces create an elegant contrast with the warm tones of the wood and the ceramic tiles used in the bathroom, allowing natural light to take center stage. From the outset, this residence is conceived as a seamless dialogue between architecture and landscape. A refined watter features leads to the entrance, setting a serene tone that extends throughout the house. The foyer, lit by a skylit patio, transitions gently between exterior and interior, introducing the play of light and shadow that defines the home's atmosphere. This modern design utilizes stone piers to suspend volumes of glass to create the interior spaces, and capture views from throughout the home to connect with the natural beauty of the surrounding wetlands. Inside, wood elements are used to give warmth and contrast to the stone to create a welcoming feel to the spaces. Spacesmith in collaboration with Davis Brody Bond were enlisted by the Brooklyn Bridge Park for the design of their Pop-up Pool. Rising off of the greenway on the uplands of Pier 2 at the Park, the 30’ x 50’ pool is accompanied by a 2,500 sf sandy beach area supplied with lounge chairs and colorful umbrellas. An adjacent concrete plaza contains picnic tables, more umbrellas and a food and drink concession stand. Amenities such as showers, restrooms and lockers are also provided. In a study area adjacent to the beach of Palaiochora, south of Chania, we were asked to design a holiday home that will host the owner's family during the winter months and will be rented out as accommodation during the summer months. The specifications of the design of Villa 4P included a relatively steep hillside property with a wonderful view of Graz and a desire for connecting the house and the garden.
