MIA Design Studio crafts the Ashui Pavilion using scaffolding and flowing white drapes in Vietnam
Vietnam’s Ashui Awards return this year with a brand-new pavilion designed by MIA Design Studio, located along the Saigon River in Ho Chi Minh City. Named after the awards, the Ashui Pavilion sits on a previously vacant site, serving as a hub for interaction and recognition of Vietnamese architects who have made significant contributions to their society.

Nightlight by Fabric Architecture is designed to double as a utility shed and sculptural light feature
For a site in Banks Peninsula, New Zealand, architect Mitchell and designer Amy Douglas of Fabric Architecture (formerly Coll Architecture) developed a utility shed creatively designed to double as a sculptural light feature for future outdoor living space. Called Nightlight, the structure provides tool storage, outdoor amenities for washing up, and illumination for the surrounding garden.

The shed includes a polycarbonate shell clad with Abodo Vulcan timber. The polycarbonate allows light to transmit through, while the Abodo screens lend texture and the impression of a Japanese lantern.
