Lamminrahka Education Centre

Lamminrahka Education Centre is a key public building of the new Lamminrahka area between Kangasala and Tampere. The centre consists of three building volumes connected by a central heart space. The heart space serves as the school canteen and the main gathering space, bringing together all users of the building. It also connects to the main public square of the new residential area. The Kari Campus in Rauma gathers several important public institutions and amenities under one roof. It consists of swimming and sports halls, a comprehensive school, a music school, an adult education centre and a youth centre. Being together creates significant synergy and savings. Lapland Central hospital extension turns the 1980’s hospital into a patient-centered campus that supports active rehabilitation and healing. The new humanely efficient hospital is a public building integrated into the living city, moving away from the concept of an isolated institution. Katajanokan Laituri

Helsinki’s former industrial Katajanokka waterfront is home to Katajanokan Laituri, a solid wood office and hotel building, and the largest mass timber construction in Finland to date. Monio High School and Cultural Centre, Finland’s first three-storey timber log public building, showcases a pioneering idea for large-scale Finnish wood construction. New psychiatric clinic in Tampere, Finland provides example of “healing architecture”

Danish architectural studio C.F. Møller Architects worked in collaboration with Finnish studio ARCO Architecture Company to design and complete a new psychiatric clinic at Tampere University Hospital in the city of Tampere, Finland. The clinic provides a beneficial and healing environment for both patients and staff; located on the edge of the hospital grounds, the new facility blends with the surrounding landscape to offer a peaceful, private, and therapeutic atmosphere. Kivinen Rusanen Architects completes an architectural Finnish substation with custom-made water-struck bricks

Finnish architectural studio Kivinen Rusanen Architects has completed the Tammisto Electricity Substation in Vantaa, a city in southern Finland (around 20 kilometers from Helsinki). This substation has served the Helsinki metropolitan area as a central power grid hub for many decades and its older systems required modernization. The studio’s approach provides an urban infrastructural facility with an architectural quality; the use of custom-made water-struck bricks laid in different masonry patterns imbues the substation with a sense of warmth and depth. The Barö

In June 2021 the new archipelago hotel in Barösund, Inkoo opened its doors. Located one hours drive west of Helsinki this hotel is situated right at the sea and the 12 hotel rooms are all located in separate wooden houses for maximum privacy. The hotel complex is planned to fit the unique environment and to have minimal impact on it.
