Frame Model R.1

The Suit'd Suits Frame Model collection R.1 is fitting the Berker brand wiring accessory parts, from their renowned R-series.It was in 2016 that we decided to make matching styling frames for a specific brand, in order to achieve a full range with lots of application possibilities. With focussing on only one electro-technical brand, our clients would never be confused about the applicability. We felt most connected to German family business Hager (est.1955) and decided to partner with them to make more logic combinations; our styling frames with their technology. The combination is astonishing. The typically handcrafted ceramic and wooden Suit’d Suits surface frames from the R.1 Series give a very human and friendly look and feel to the hig... More

Bloemhof

After a period in which buildings in the Netherlands were primarily constructed in outlying areas outside cities, in the last few years the focus has shifted to construction in urban areas. 39% of the proposed construction at urban locations that was built in the decade between 1995 and 2005 (in this decade a very large number of VINE X neighbourhoods, named after the policy briefing released in 1988 by the Dutch ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment), were built on the edges of cities. The goal is to preserve the green suburban areas and encourage the middle class to live in the city. ‘The intense city,’ a residential-building manifestation wi... More

The Grands Moulins de Pantin

The imposing silhouette of Grands Moulins de Pantin (the large Pantin windmills) dominates the East Paris cityscape between Porte de la Villette and Porte de Pantin. Their neo-regional architecture with its three towers is a powerful symbol of the industrial past of the Ourcq Canal. This heritage will be protected when the entire sited is modernized to develop a service-sector complex over 50,000 sq m in area. Contemporary buildings will be used to rebuild the site's North and East sides, forming a coherent whole with the silos and the old windmill. This project is part of the quarter's large-scale redevelopment plan. The link between the past and modernity will be retained in each section of the site, not through an obsessive desire for... Hotel Artemis, Amsterdam

Hotel Artemis is located at the top of John M. Keynesplein (John M. Keynes Square), in the middle of the business district of Riekerpolder. The office park consists of two urban designs: an orthogonal arrangement of buildings and a looser fan-shaped arrangement towards the countryside. These two features form the basis of the architectural design of the hotel. The main shape of the building volume is an L-shape that clearly marks out the urban edge with its solid presence. The building volume is connected to the countryside by a transparent panel. The desired outline is provided not only by the L-shaped mass, but also by the choice of material for the facade finishing, which differs in appearance from the surrounding buildings. The fa... More
