If, then, we must choose between transforming an existing suburban house or building a new one, there is an ethical question that surpasses the merely economic equation. As architects we must rethink the impact that generates replacing a piece where it can be refunctionalized. GLASHAUS
Glashaus is a pavilion and plaza that house the real estate showroom for the Seehaus development in Gaspar, SC. The main element of the building is a large sloping roof that hovers above the ground, invitingly opening up to the street. A lightweight metal structure supports the roof, and underneath, its interior spaces are enclosed with glass and detached volumes.

Seoul Yeodamjae establishes harmony between a former temple, trees, concrete and glass
Located in Changsin-dong, Seoul, a former Buddhist temple named Wongaska had become abandoned and disconnected from its local context. Originally constructed in 1983, Emer-sys Architects undertook the transformation of the structure into a cultural centre that includes a library for children as well as a feminist library.
