Topwood is a new-build coastal home showcasing marine-grade glazing in Salcombe, designed for an exposed salt-air environment. Large-format glazing opens this award-winning house to sun terraces and sea views. The brief was to maximise glass and keep the architecture visually calm while standing up to coastal conditions. All aluminium profiles were finished RAL 7039 Matt (Quartz Grey) with a marine-grade coating, and the envelope was engineered to an assumed site wind load of 1,100 Pa. With a whole-house MVHR strategy, no trickle vents were required, preserving clean sightlines; an approach well suited to marine-grade glazing in Salcombe where uninterrupted views are the priority. At Carpe Diem, contemporary glazing in Westbury is highlighted by expansive minimal windows® sliding doors, offering panoramic views across rural Shropshire towards the Welshpool area. Spanning 15 metres wide by 3.05 metres high, the two-track sliding system includes two sliding panes alongside three fixed panels, finished in a bespoke RAL 9005 coating. The ultra-slim black framing ensures uninterrupted sightlines, allowing the landscape to take centre stage. Meet historical San Francisco Landmark #104 – the Independent Wood Company building, built in 1907. Situated between Telegraph Hill and the commercial waterfront, this structure has seen a lot of change over 115 years, culminating in a sweeping office renovation by Mithun. This two level brick building is now surrounded by the monumental Levi's Plaza, headquarters of Levi Straus Co. The complex was conceived by Gensler and HOK in 1982 with sensitivity to the 1105 Battery site, continuing the rugged industrial character and predominant red brick.
