Having undergone rapid and widespread urban development since its independence, Singapore faces the critical issue of land scarcity. Sustainable development in a land-scarce country, therefore, necessitates innovative solutions. Paya Lebar Green offers a workplace prototype for sustainable development, employing adaptive re-use strategies on a brownfield site to address the evolving needs of the Paya Lebar precinct.

The office building for Santé publique France, the French public healthcare agency, is located at the edge of the Bois de Vincennes, from which it draws its inspiration. It is entirely made of wood: structure, flooring, façades… The shape is like a bundle of sticks placed on the ground that branch out like open, protective arms. This design symbolizes the mission of this institution, which oversees the health of everyone who lives in France. The aim is to be exemplary in terms of its impact on the environment and the health.

Lost in the Woods
Lost in the Woods is a low-lying residence cut into the face of cliff alongside a creek blending, into the landscape. The interior becomes a topography undulating with the rock face opening into an enormous vista.This single-family home is located within a densely forested lot where a stony outcropping meets a wide and shallow creek in the Adirondack region of Upstate New York. The concept was born of a desire to create an artful home that responded to the drastic cliffside, refined into an extension of the landscape. The approach to the residence is an extended threshold created by a loose stone path that weaves through the scattered evergreens.
