Sag Harbor House
This harbor-side property is a conceived as a modern, shingle-style lodge. The four-bedroom house comprises two pavilions connected by a bridge that creates an entrance which frames views of Sag Harbor Bay.
The interior layout has been carefully zoned to reflect the family's needs. The great room creates the home’s social core combining kitchen, living and dining spaces that give onto the expansive terrace and pool beyond. A more private, wood-paneled rustic den is housed in the adjoining wing beneath the master bedroom suite. More

Eight Bells Residence
Sun, wind and light - these elements are central to our design work, however our response to them differs from place to place. This project, situated on an ocean-front site at 25 degrees N latitude, is exposed to extreme ocean winds and intense sunlight. Additionally, the building site is 12 feet above sea level, subjecting it to potential coastal storm surge. These site factors greatly influenced our design response for this retreat home, to be built for an American family of five.
Our design solution features careful placement of openings to avoid wind, and the ability to manage wind via carefully placed operable window-walls. Intense sunlight is managed through shading of all dwelling areas, inside and out. ... More

Portage Bay Residence
Tucked into a small city lot along the water’s edge, the house was designed to live like a studio loft for a bachelor who values privacy, a central location to reside in the city, and a convenient spot to park the float plane. Hidden from the street, the building is a protective shell of zinc and aluminum – a refined version of the maritime industrial sheds found throughout the waterfronts of Seattle.
