In 2009 the Metsäliitto co-operative, initiated a project for renovation of a three-volume office complex, covering the design of a new office building as well as renovation of the highest, eight-storey volume in Tapiola, Espoo near the Länsiväylä thoroughfare in the Finnish capital region. The lower volumes were demolished and their part of the site was parcelled out for residential construction. Designed by Openbook for Taguspark, the PHC Software building is located in Oeiras Valley, close to Lisbon.  With an area of 4,000sqm, the building's facade reveals two distinct layers that explore the balance between the opaque and the transparent. The concrete shell that envelops the inner glass volume adds dynamism to the overall building and highlights the connection between the interior and the exterior. Housed in a building by Ferrier Marchetti Studio, the Pernod Ricard's office stands contiguous to Saint-Lazare train station and spans almost 200,000 square feet across eight floors. There are planted terraces and a few beehives on the green rooftop, and while none of the firm’s 900 employees has an assigned workstation, they do have a choice of some 2,400 different seats. They also have access to an almost dizzyingly long list of amenities, which include an in-house package-delivery counter, a game room, a travel lounge with a nap room, and a “Health Village” comprising a gym, hairdressing salon and barber’s shop, massage parlor, and an infirmary. When Slack asked O+A to create its new multi-floor headquarters in San Francisco one design story presented itself immediately. Slack’s CEO Stewart Butterfield is an outdoorsman, a hiker who goes off grid every year and recharges in the various types of wilderness—desert, mountains, forest—that make up the Pacific Crest Trail. Because that trail forms a bridge between two of Slack’s offices in Vancouver and San Francisco it seemed a thematic link too rich to pass up. Following a series of interviews with Booking.com, A&M was selected to do the Design & Project Management of Booking.com’s new offices, in the newly “Orbit” building on Leoforos Kifissias Ave in Athens. The new booking.com offices represent a destination of a unique experience for its employees and visitors aiming to create a familiar feeling. A miniature city and a network of routes is translated into office space with areas for focused work, collaboration, places to meet up and spaces for play and relaxation.  The floorplan is organized through spinal circulation while focus or collaboration areas were placed along a zoning gradation system moving from private to more public areas. The project consists of the construction of an office block as well as a storage unit in Fenouillet (Occitanie Région, France).  The headquarters of the company Solvéo, located on the site of the company Matéos Electricité, is a subsidiary specialised in renewable energies. The project consists of the building of two additional floors and a reorganisation of the ground floor of the existing building so as to create an independent entrance for the subsidiary company. Located at the core of Beijing’s new 30-hectare central business district, CITIC Tower is the tallest building and a new icon of the capital. CITIC Tower’s design draws inspiration from the “zun”, a ritual vessel originating in Bronze Age China. In profile, the tower abstracts and refines the zun’s vase-like form, balancing composition and articulation with structural requirements and leasing depth needs.
