Hotel "Le chevalier bleu"
The bastide of Monpazier, founded in 1284 by will of Edward I, king of England, is classified among the most beautiful villages in France, and has maintained its original appearance and dimensions almost intact, presenting itself to visitors today as an authentic jewel of medieval architecture.
The building transformed into a boutique hotel has gone through 8 centuries of history in a continuum of stratifications (noble palace, then bourgeois house, finally hotel), some of which have hidden - and sometimes destroyed - traces of previous eras.

The Edgewater Hotel Tiled Roof Deck
The 1750 sq. ft. rooftop patio at Seattle’s iconic Edgewater Hotel was falling into disrepair. An elastomeric deck coating that had only been down for 1 year had already failed. With failed waterproofing, they couldn’t be confident that the hotel would not sustain water damage over time. Plus, the overall look of the patio was off-putting to guests who wanted to enjoy the hotel’s view of Seattle’s waterfront. The hotel owners decided to give the rooftop patio an upgrade with an attractive and durable outdoor tile surface.
Since the failed coating was layered over a sleeper floor and a torch-on roofing product, it was going to be a big job. They called the roof deck experts at Duradek Northwest to ensure... More
Hotel Indigo
The Sterick North Building at 22 N. BB King Boulevard in Memphis opened to great fanfare in 1963. Located next door to the iconic Sterick Building, the location served as the first Holiday Inn in Downtown Memphis and was the first garage-hotel combination building in the country. However, the building's greater legacy lay in an engineering innovation used in its construction: It was one of the first practical applications of the 'Lin-Tee' structural beam. Engineer Tung-Yen Lin innovated the pressed concrete technique which allowed the use of a single structural beam to support the building's unusual layout. The bottom 7 floors of the building are parking garage with a three-story hotel perched on top, surrounding a central courtyard with a... More

Villa Crespi
The goal of Villa Crespi’s restyling was to respect the building’s eclectic style while also giving it a new interpretation. By contaminating the residence’s existing features with newly designed elements, the project followed in the footsteps of past interventions, which made Villa Crespi an elegant architectural “eccentricity”.The renovation focused on Antonino Cannavacciuolo’s Michelin-starred restaurant, the cocktail bar and the garden; materials were paired in a variety of combinations, celebrating the villa’s sumptuous frame. In the restaurant, the hue of the walls was toned down and the lighting system, with the help of Filippo Cannata, overhauled to make the space cozier and more theatr... More

The Former Měšťák Hotel Český Krumlov
Author's report The hotel rooms are located in the former Měšťák Hotel, in the very centre of Český Krumlov. Originally three separate Gothic houses from the 14th century were joined into one complex in the 1950s. Unfortunately, the houses have undergone several large renovations during their life (last one in the 1990s), having had most of their original details, with a few exceptions removed. One of such exceptions is the 'presidential suite' with its preserved carved Renaissance beam ceiling. In the design, we tried to bring the buildings' long lost nobleness back into the rooms and also introduce something from its original features - wooden beam ceiling and parquet floors. The other materials and details are completely contem... More
