Waka Huia
Waka Huia is a deeply personal renovation of a character villa on Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland’s harbour edge. Over more than forty years, its owner has filled the house with artworks, books, artefacts and family keepsakes, developing an instinctive understanding of rooms for art, entertaining and everyday life.
The design continues this history. Original materials and crafted heritage details are retained and restored, with new work conceived in the same spirit of care, colour and longevity.

Sardinian Villa
Located in the Poetto district of Cagliari (Sardinia, Italy), a short distance from the long coastal strip that defines one of the city’s most recognizable landscapes, the villa originates from the transformation of an existing structure dating back to the late 1930s, offering an opportunity to reflect on the theme of transformation.
The project, developed under the direction of Armando Bruno for Studio Marco Piva, treats the existing building as working material rather than something to be replicated or restored. The aim is not to reconstruct a presumed original authenticity, but to redefine the relationship between architecture, domestic space, and landscape through a comprehensive process of rewriting the building organism.
