Villa POGGIO ALLA FAME is a private residence perched midway up a hill in Tuscany. Shaped from the restoration of a late 19th-century farm complex, this is a place where reverence for the past meets understated, contemporary design for refined living and high-end hospitality.
The main body of the complex features a sequence of rooms on the ground floor defined by structural arches, natural textural surfaces, and harmonious volumes, adding a modern touch to the original interiors. On the upper floor, four independent suites offer a warm, immersive retreat. The property is completed by a guest house that provides additional wellness and hospitality spaces.
The outdoor spaces unfold harmoniously across a garden, an olive grove, footpaths, relaxation areas, and a striking infinity pool, further enhancing the continuity between architecture and the natural surroundings. As for the interiors, this project deliberately moves away from the Tuscan farmhouse cliché in favour of a more modern, pared-back, international aesthetic.
Furnishings, accessories, and lighting fixtures range from modern to iconic, balancing different styles, while the many examples of abstract wall art effortlessly blend the past and the present.
The neutral shades of the materials are punctuated by splashes of colour, adding depth, movement, and captivating visual contrasts, especially in the interplay between the flooring texture and exposed wood. Even the rugs play a primary role in defining zones, creating visual boundaries, and enhancing the overall look of the space.
The aim of this project was to deliver a home that felt alive, refined, and quietly shaped by time, leaning more towards a contemporary residence rather than a conventional hospitality model.
Poggio alla Fame epitomises a modern reinterpretation of the Tuscan farmhouse, balancing historical identity, aesthetic research, and a new idea of hospitality.
