Los Angeles-based Studio UNLTD introduces Saizon restaurant, a design project encompassing the interiors, lighting, facade, and patio of a 5,300 square foot interior restaurant with 805 square feet of outdoor dining within a freestanding building as part of a new mixed-use development in Fresno, CA.  In the design for Saizon, Studio UNLTD explores the tension between the opposing qualities of permanence, represented by architectural structure, and fluidity, symbolized by the perpetual ebb and flow of the ocean.  Heavily plastered columns and beams, reminiscent of decaying concrete pier supports add a dramatic gridded framework to the room while board-formed concrete wall tiles provide texture and depth.  Contrasting with the... When designing the interior of the new Landerik restaurant, our points of departure were the intended functions and potential of the available space, its spatial parameters, and the vision of both the client and the Landerik brand. We aesthetically emphasized the narrow and long space with its arches and high ceilings, while keeping in mind the spirit of the time in which the building was constructed. We gently illuminated the arches, and we added to their softness through round mirrors in darkish tones, which also extended the space visually. The gentle white lights seem to float and, because they add a heightened sense of depth, they gently invite guests into the heart of the restaurant. As part of a $12-million renovation that began in October 2018, the Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis renovated its Club Level accommodations, guest rooms and suites.   Part of the initiative included modernizing nearly 300 guest bathrooms to feature walk-in showers in king guest rooms and new powder rooms in all suites. The luxury hotel, located within Missouri’s upscale Arts and Garden District of Clayton, selected modern linear shower drains from QuickDrain USA to complement the new contemporary design theme.   Some of the upgraded amenities include full Carrara marble bathrooms with separate soaking tubs and showers that feature the QuickDrain total shower solution. Located within the high-end shopping destination of Victoria Gate in Leeds, the 7,807-sqft site comprises of a stylish rooftop bar, outdoor terrace and restaurant complete with an open sushi counter.Our brief was to create a new sophisticated dining destination that drew inspiration from the heritage of the site, a former Victorian haberdashery, which would compliment and enhance the delectable fusion cuisine on offer.  Issho (meaning ‘together’ in Japanese) subtly references the delicate textures, patterns and folds of East Asian fabrics creating an authentic and refined design aesthetic, that offers it’s guests the chance to discover the true art of fusion dining. On arrival into the restaurant, patrons are greeted into a contem...
