Portuguese White Rustic Limestone Irregular Natural Split

Portuguese White Rustic Limestone is a natural limestone sourced from selected quarries in Central Portugal. Each piece is individually selected, creating an irregular composition with natural variations in shape, texture and warm beige tones. The stone features a natural split face that preserves its authentic mineral character, while the sawn flat back facilitates installation and allows the material to be used as natural stone cladding for both contemporary and traditional architecture. Suitable for exterior façades, garden and boundary walls, interior feature walls, villas, hospitality and landscape projects. The irregular format allows architects and installers to create distinctive masonry compositions, from refined faç... More

Micro architecture

In a small street in a lovely neighborhood of Rennes, this micro-architecture now stands in place of a dilapidated garage. Stéphane Chalmeau Conceived as a "folly", its complex, origami-like roof follows the rounded, segmented shape of the plot and rests on a nearly opaque, unified base that reveals nothing from the street. Stéphane Chalmeau The building enhances the relationship between the garden and the street, as well as between the interior spaces and the garden. It houses a parking area and a small office on the garden level, and a workshop/studio on the upper floor. Stéphane Chalmeau   The entire structure, constrained by zoning regulations, showcases wood in its construction: the structur... More

Miami House

A concept developed as part of the HOME Competition organized by Arch Out Loud in 2019, this project conceives of the house as a catalyst for collective encounters. Designed for a group of independent individuals who pool their resources to build a collective 1,550 ft2 /144m2 beach house in Florida, this type of co-habitation requires reconsideration of social structures that are typical in a single-family house. FORMA Architects PLLC An important function of the project is to provide for spaces that would be suitable for entertainment and thus the expansive roof deck is a natural starting point. By elevating it to the top of the house, complete unobstructed views surround the occupiable roof which is complete with a small garden, di... More

OPUS INCERTUM PROFILE

Wall design with irregular shapes and sizes. Even though the style is informal, it follows certain rules, such as staggered vertical joints and significant horizontal courses, which show solidity. The mortar makes a major contribution to the finish on these irregular solutions, and the flush stone look created gives greater uniformity to the design of the stone veneer.  Caption More
