A small café in a prime location in Hannover — around 35 m² that had to be designed with precision. An existing private house in Speyer, extended with a new addition and comprehensively modernised — developed in collaboration with DOA Architekten. Beyond pure visualisation, interior architecture expertise shaped the design of the spaces: material concepts, spatial atmosphere and lighting were developed jointly. A 57 m² apartment in the brutalist Collini Center in Mannheim, virtually unchanged since the 1970s, was carefully modernised. The result combines contemporary living comfort with the architectural heritage of the iconic concrete building on the Neckar river. Take the ageing premises of an “old forge” and combine it with the requirements of a modern and atmospheric office building. Voilà: we are virtually starting from scratch. The property: a listed old water tower in the heart of Bad Segeberg, in the immediate vicinity of the Karl May Festival venue. The vision: to create an entire hotel area with the historic water tower at its heart. Speaking of historic: the addition “listed building” is almost a given. And speaking of the tower: the building is round. An absolute challenge in terms of interior design. Daylight only sparsely penetrates the north-facing box windows into this Viennese apartment situated in a turn-of-the-century ‘Altbau’ building. SCHÖNSTIL develops a new living concept based on the appealing splendor of the rounded arch entryway. The adjoining library and dining area were immersed in infinite deep-sea blue. And, finally, the previously unused hallway takes on meaning. The adapted interior is complemented by a custom-designed mirrored buffet, several existing pieces, and a selection of new acquisitions. A former tailor shop was to become the new coffee hotspot. A coffee concept store in the heart of Vienna was desired. The new interior design now shines in a modern design with a well-thought-out store area. The dominant colors of pink and orange present the store in a fresh and cheerful aesthetic. A small seating area and a long high table invite customers to linger for a while. Organic shapes can be found on the walls as well as in numerous elements such as the custom bar and bench. In the former laboratory area of the Gelsenkirchen Science Parc was implemented a new coworking space (New Work Lab) for start-ups and commuters from technology-oriented industries. In addition to 27 technically full equipped workplaces, there are retreat areas and communication zones which increase the quality of stay and create a great variety in the working process. In special areas such as the virtual reality room or the conference room, technologies of the future can be used and tested as part of a co-working study.
