Between April and October 2009, coinciding with the Jubilee Year, Santo Domingo de la Calzada (La Rioja) holds the exhibition La Rioja Tierra Abierta: Sin, Penance, Forgiveness. INDISSOLUBLE S.L. ALICE (acronym for A Large Ion Collider Experiment) is one of the seven detectors or experiments located alongside the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, Geneva (Switzerland). Talking Brains is an exhibition that creates experiences, incites imagination and shows how language connects to our biology. It has a fully immersive design that walks the visitor from the origins of mankind and language to their complex evolution. It’s an experience that goes beyond the exhibition walls thanks to the use of RFID cards. This technology allows to identify visitors and personalize their experience: the contents are shown in the language of choice and the installations can be enriched with personal data like date of birth, experiments results or the scores of games. Technological capabilities are increasing at a rapid pace. Should we continue to embrace modifications to our minds, bodies and daily lives, or are there boundaries we shouldn’t overstep?
