Leather Jacket

Designed for a compact urban site, this sculptural alteration challenges expectations of light and volume. In plan, a corner of the home was carefully opened to extend into a new deck space, sheltered by a transparent roof—creating a softer, more diffused threshold between indoors and out. For our clients, both working in TV and film, we explored ways to apply deeper, moodier hues within new sculptural volumes. The result is an almost cinematic effect—attuned to the dramatic interplay of black and white. Lèvanzo

Lèvanzo is the renovation project of a single-family villa located in Caprarica, in the province of Lecce. Set within the context of a small Salento village, the house was redesigned for a young professional couple with the goal of updating both the functions and the aesthetics of a villa with typically 1970s lines. The original building was characterized by a strong presence of accessory elements: the semicircular living room was topped by an octagonal tiled canopy, echoed by a series of small overhangs protecting the entrance veranda and the openings facing the garden. Over time, this complex arrangement had ended up weighing down the overall architectural reading of the house. Marcello Mariana Marcello Mariana The proj... More

Kitchen as Threshold

A structure between living, producing, and coexisting In the age of digital mobility, space is no longer bound to singular functions; portability, multi-connectivity, and spatial ambiguity have redefined the everyday landscape. Today, a library, a café, or a kitchen is no longer confined to its original role — each can become a workspace, a social interface, or a site of production. While this transformation has already taken root in public and semi-public realms, the real question lies in how such multifunctionality can be integrated into the domestic scale — particularly within spatial constraints. Caption How can the interior spaces of the home respond to these shifting practices of production? How might persona... More

MIAMI BEACH

With an area of 511 square meters and located in one of the most exclusive neighborhoods of Miami, the property is a 50’s building total renovation by Citizen Artist. The designers never lost sight of the idea of developing a design that evokes the heyday of Miami’s Art Deco period by re-interpreting it, however, in a contemporary way. The palette of marine-like materials and colours is immediately noticeable at the entrance of the house, where the stucco made from aggregates of local crushed shells is a clear tribute to Miami’s famous beaches. A traditional walkway, immersed in a landscape of tropical vibrations and lush green, leads to the front door whose handle, made of cast brass, recalls the curved and rounded forms... More
