It’s a restaurant that opens its doors in the Condesa neighborhood, designed by the Mexican firm WORC, whose concept arises from recreating the authentic flavors of Seoul’s street food in Mexico City. It is a space that serves as a stage for friends to share, immersing visitors in Korean culture through design and gastronomy.

Nampa House
Nampa House is a restaurant that originated from a homemade food that has been descended over 200 years within a noble family. The designer has taken inspiration from the nature surrounding the old house of Nampa and its everyday objects. Naju where Nampa house is located is known for traditional craftmanship including weaving, carpentry, dyeing, and basketry. These local traditional characteristics are also applied to the design such as a translucent curtain which resembles weaved linen. The curtain divides the hall and room allowing psychological communication with the hall area while offering privacy for the room.

We were required to reconstruct by adding new identity, yet leaving the impression of the existing restaurant as it is.
By using Korean traditional grid patterns and vertical grids as motif, we aimed to make a clear and sophisticated atmosphere.
Though this is Interior Design, being conscious of the Architecture structures and considering the details enable to evoke the customers’ feelings to visit here.
One of our challenges was to make a characteristic difference in the space from the Basement Floor to the Ground Floor.
