We were required to reconstruct by adding new identity, yet leaving the impression of the existing restaurant as it is.

By using Korean traditional grid patterns and vertical grids as motif, we aimed to make a clear and sophisticated atmosphere. 

Though this is Interior Design, being conscious of the Architecture structures and considering the details enable to evoke the customers’ feelings to visit here.

One of our challenges was to make a characteristic difference in the space from the Basement Floor to the Ground Floor. As you proceed from the entrance to the aboveground floor’s inner room and to the Basement Floor, customers will feel more sense of privacy. We have used the same motif grids, nevertheless, by changing the thickness of the grids and narrowing the pitch, we were able to add a touch of premium class atmosphere to the room.

Once entering this space, you will feel a sense of calmness, and appreciate once again the opportunity of dining. This restaurant will become the entrance to the Korean cuisine culture. Fully occupied with customers enjoying their meals, the imposing atmosphere will take more advantage. Though each design is not extraordinary, the combination will blend perfectly to become an essential factor. This is indeed the fascination of KIMCHEE.
