Saflex Structural PVB interlayer

Designed for extra strength in laminated glass Providing superior structural capacity versus conventional PVB, Saflex® Structural interlayer is a PVB interlayer designed for applications where interlayer rigidity and high glass adhesion requirements for laminated glass are critical.  In properly designed systems, Saflex Structural is capable of containing glass shards at high and low temperatures after impact and under load—even in open edge laminated glass.  Due to the strength and stiffness of the Saflex Structural interlayer, laminated glass can either sustain a higher uniform load for a given configuration or the glass thickness can be reduced while keeping the same load and area as compared to conventional laminat... Saflex Clear PVB interlayer

Enhanced safety for architectural laminated glass Globally, architects and designers rely on Saflex® Clear PVB interlayers in laminated glass to help meet regional standards for safety glass. Protecting people and property, Saflex interlayer adds post-breakage safety and security to laminated safety glass applications. Unlike monolithic glass, properly designed laminated glazing made with Saflex interlayer reduces the risk of injury from broken glass because the glass adheres to the interlayer after impact.  By holding glass in place, the interlayer provides protection by preventing the release of glass shards from becoming dangerous flying or falling glass fragments.  This may also help keep the system integral once broken&... SOM completes graceful dedication to the United States Military history

20 miles outside of Washington DC, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill placed a series of rigorous steel pavilions on top of a plateau to evoke the sense of monumentally befitting the National Museum of the United States Army (NMUSA). The museum is foremost a dedication to the story of the individual soldier and draws inspiration from three core military ideals: discipline, modesty, and rigor. © Dave Burk | SOM The facade is composed of laser-cut, stainless steel panels based on a three foot grid that refer to a sense of rigor and discipline. Ekya Byrathi

This is the fourth school we were doing for our client, the CMR Group of Institutions. The idea of the EKYA brand of schools was established over the last few years, hence certain standards and details had to be repeated from one school to another, yet our intent was for each campus to have its site-specific identity. The school is from Kindergarten to class 12; hence we had to design for different age groups with different sensitivities.   The KG and lower primary section was treated as a school within the school, having its own separate entrance, play area etc. The site was abnormally long and narrow with the longer sides facing east and west. Out of the site extent of 2 acres, 1 acre is left open for the playground. A decision was... More
