Leftovers

'Upcycle Lamp’ is a series of lamps made by Benjamin Spöth. Carefully crafted from leftover high quality birch plywood. Such a pity to throw away all the leftovers at the wholesale – the designer thought – and started cutting down the two and a half meter long pieces into millimeter thin slices. These slices assembled in different ways makes a family of five lamps: three rather smaller and two bigger versions. While playing around with different pieces, the lamps finally got their shape. Multiplex wood is an interesting material to work with for a lampshade.
