Located in a wooded valley on the outskirts of Philadelphia, Sycamore Glen is a single-family home nestled among mature trees, overlooking Wister Creek. Bordered closely by neighboring houses to the west, the narrow site informed a linear organization and a careful balance of privacy, light, and views. The Jardim Paulistano House faced the challenge of occupying a narrow and long plot of land, measuring 10 by 70 meters. One of the reasons for its selection was the presence of large trees, thus the desire to integrate nature and sustainability into the residential environment was present from the project's inception.
