Seaside Nook / Phan Ri Cua House
In Phan Ri Cua, we refer to the sea with an innocent sense of the waves crashing, the golden sunlight swaying on the sandy shore, and on each boat and basket after the fishing nets return to shore. The randomness we gather along the coast perhaps reflects the simple, somewhat rustic life of the fishing village people, characterized by disjointedness, tilting, coolness, pulsation, rust, undulation, and simplicity. The interaction with the local architectural features, with many disproportionate elements tinged with time, give us new experiences every time we pass by.

Ancient traditions are being lost with technology today, people have lost interest in learning about their origins. The Huaorani indigenous community currently does not have spaces to carry out their traditional ancestral activities, and the project arises as an opportunity to provide them with better spaces in which they can also interact with tourists, in addition to improving their economies.

The Cabin
A typology of cabin, a tiny house lost in the wilderness, is a must in contemporary architecture. Hidden from curious gazes, it embodies a dream of a rural lifestyle combined with urban comfort. That is exactly how we envisioned The Cabin – a prefab compact house assembled at our own Delo Design manufacture in St. Petersburg, Russia. Equipped with the essentials and almost ready to use, the unit is then delivered right to the site.
The Cabin is easy to transfer and install, thus minimizing the intrusion into surrounding landscape. The unit is a plug-and-live solution: it is simply connected to utility systems and ready to house its inhabitants.

Contemporary design response to surrounding farmhouses results in an expressive new building ensemble
In the village of Frastanz – Gampelün, Austria, a new three-storey residential ‘tower’ and patio with carport are situated in a way that creates a new ensemble with two beautiful existing farmhouses that adjoin. Designed by firm Architekten, the new building’s distinct simplicity contrasts against its richly ornamented neighbours.

Ecological and economic sustainability were key design themes for the clients. The main structure is built entirely of timber harvested from the client’s private property. The façade likewise is clad with untreated timber from the site. The same timber lines the interior surfaces, where it is soaped three times for a uniquely soft finish.
