Acclaimed architect Balkrishna Doshi to be awarded the 2022 Royal Gold Medal for Architecture
Acclaimed architect Balkrishna Doshi is to receive the 2022 Royal Gold Medal for Architecture. The highest honour for architecture in the UK, and one of the world’s highest honours in the field, the award is approved personally by the Queen.

Born in 1927 in Pune, India, to an extended family of furniture makers, Doshi studied architecture at the JJ School of Architecture in Bombay. Temple Beth El
Temple Beth El, in upstate New York, is one of a handful of architecturally significant synagogues in the United States. We were commissioned to renovate and design a new educational addition in a manner that respected and preserved the original design by renowned 20th century architect, Louis Kahn.
A spacious, light-filled lobby connects the synagogue with a newly added structure that houses six classrooms, a large library, a social hall, a pre-function room, and a kitchen. The project also included the addition of a nursery school and the accommodation of the synagogue’s administrative offices all while remaining sensitive to the scale and character of the existing structure. A new headquarters office and a warehouse building for an online fashion company Satish Jassal Architects has designed a new 30,000 square foot headquarters office and warehouse building for Adini, an online fashion company in Hounslow, London. The company, a growing business requiring further accommodation, has been at the site of Great West Road for 30 years. The site has been split into two with the rear of the site has been developed into residential accommodation, which has also been designed and planned by Satish Jassal Architects.
