Santa Maria Petapa

Taller MRD and DFArquitectos collaborate to revitalize the Santa María Petapa market in Oaxaca, Mexico, offering it a new opportunity after the devastating earthquake of 2017. Established by the Urban Improvement Program (PMU) and headed by the Secretariat of Agrarian and Territorial Development and Urban (SEDATU), this project had as its main objective the unification and integration of a previously urban and socially fractured space. By preserving the site's distinctive cultural elements, such as ocher-toned brick and clay structures, the team not only managed to preserve its origin, but also forged a lasting legacy. Kirsikka

On the upper floor of Hakaniemi Market Hall, the evening sun pours through the tall windows of a stately, 6-meter-tall restaurant space. Kirsikka, the market hall’s first-ever restaurant to serve customers even outside regular opening hours, soaks in soft, warm light. Located in what used to be the hall’s staff room, Kirsikka protrudes history and a one-of-a-kind market hall atmosphere. Park Pivot

Park Pivot is a new 1000 Sqm mixed use building located at the heart of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and forms part of the developing residential district of East Wick and Sweetwater. The design solution required a sensitive urban approach given its close proximity to the prominent Copper Box Arena building and the emerging residential blocks of East Wick and Sweetwater phase I. Yagan Square

Named after the Noongar warrior, Yagan Square is a project of local and state significance for the city of Perth and Western Australia. Located at the east end of the new MRA Citylink development, it seeks to physically reconnect the entertainment/cultural precinct of Northbridge with Perth’s CBD (and the Swan River).Located on the former wetlands, a place of hunting and gathering and of ceremony and cultural gathering, Yagan Square has been conceived as a natural meeting place and point of convergence for Perth CBD, Northbridge and the new Perth City Link development.
