Maximizing natural light

In the tranquil town of Deolali, Maharashtra, a 2,000 sq.ft. bungalow has undergone a remarkable transformation, emerging as a new home where sunlight is at the heart of the design. Aptly named the Dance of Light, this project by COCOA, an architecture firm led by Rishabh Suvarna, reimagines a four-bedroom family home, weaving natural light into its essence while blending contemporary flair with timeless principles. In the Fluxo Apartment, the starting point for this interior design was the structure itself. The industrial style comes through strongly in the choice of materials and in the project’s overall language—but everything was designed to go beyond aesthetics. The countertops were made in exposed concrete. Concrete slat cladding covers portions of the walls with vertical texture. A black stone mosaic gives the staircase a striking presence. The DCB Montana office building marks the first significant step in transforming the Moste industrial zone into a dynamic business district in Ljubljana, the Slovenian capital. DCB Montana is a key element in converting this area into a business park. The Jardim Paulistano House faced the challenge of occupying a narrow and long plot of land, measuring 10 by 70 meters. One of the reasons for its selection was the presence of large trees, thus the desire to integrate nature and sustainability into the residential environment was present from the project's inception. The project entails a significant expansion of an existing 'King-Cottage' style home, elegantly adapting it to meet the needs of the family. Fluidity of interior spaces towards the exterior The owners aimed to enlarge their home while maximizing their outdoor space usage throughout the year. The project, as designed, creates a seamless and natural transition between the interior and exterior.
