Victory Wellness Center, designed by Los Angeles-based PATTERNS, is the studio’s largest completed project to date and its first comprehensive adaptive reuse commission. The project transforms a 1960s bowstring-truss warehouse into a 42,000-square-foot medical facility. Located at the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Troost Avenue in North Hollywood, the design expands the original 17,000-square-foot structure through sectional additions, including courtyards, a basement level, and a partial mezzanine. The medical and health facility is located in the city of Rustavi, on Taras Shevchenko Street. Considering the configuration of the surrounding area and the project’s scale, a rectangular layout was chosen for the building. The goal of the project is to provide effective and high-quality medical services to the community. Caption The planning goal is to alternate open and closed spaces, based on function. The project consists of a transformation from an empty, raw space into an eye clinic. The challenge was to exploit the restrictions resulting both from the local regulations and the potential of the existing space. The strategy is the result of a close cooperation with the client, a young, enthusiastic doctor who is required to work in a fresh and innovative environment. Three main areas mark the space: the entrance hall connected with the waiting room, the front desk and the examination rooms.
