The Simmons & Simmons office no longer fulfilled the purpose for which it was intended. After considering various scenarios, the decision was taken to reduce the office space by about 10% (from 5,000 m2 to 4,540 m2) and fit out the entire office with a new interior to prepare it for the future. DZAP designed the new interior, managed the project and carried out the renovation. Throughout the renovation Simmons & Simmons continued to work in the office. Usabilla’s new office is a hidden gem in the heart of Amsterdam’s city center. Recently, different departments have moved into the space to stimulate collaboration. Besides improving interaction between teams, the office also needed to be ‘a fun place.’ The resulting design is an office with a high degree of transparency, offering diverse workplace settings. These range from various types of meeting rooms, phone booths to focus rooms. Break-out areas, equipped with games and sports equipment, create a distraction from the daily routines and allow for recreation and relaxation in order to re-energize. The office space is bright due to the amount of glass and the central atrium with skylight. VIQTOR DAVIS wished for a lively office where employees would love to gather. They started with an easily accessible office which they found in the office building “Uffizi” in the newly built Leidsche Rijn Centrum district along the A2.To create the desired, vibrant office we designed a lounge-area just in the middle of both office wings. A perfect informal spot where employees can easily gather for coffee, lunch, meetings etc. The black bar and the striking floor tiles give the area a catchy appearance, which forms a nice contrast with the industrial look of the rest of the office. Goud Uberconnected was located in the Olympic Stadium. Because of their need for more square meters and convenient accessibility they moved to a former police station at the Surinameplein in Amsterdam. This characteristic and completely renovated building is now the new home of the Goud Uberconnected team.The interior we have designed for Goud Uberconnected fits seamlessly with the appearance of the building. The industrial character continues in the poured floor, the steel beams and frames and the concrete details. The layout is spatial and transparent.
