The project called for an addition and “re mapping“ of an existing 1960 residence on the upper bench of Salt Lake City. The design started with the landscape which grew out of the client’s art collection. The garden was organized around the idea of journey and repose. The end of the journey are two bronze elephants which are situated on a stainless-steel gabion filled with recycle glass and lite from below. The garden is only accessible from the house through the kitchen. The building is located in the historical center of Sarnico, a complex of houses arranged around a courtyard to which you access through an arched sandstone portal.The intervention concerns the enlargement of the existing attic of an apartment developed on two floors and the consequent requalification of all the interiors. The new volume, simple and regular with a double-pitched roof, proposes the archetype of the house, distinguishing itself from the rest of the building for the metal cladding of the facades and roof. The search for the geometric relationship between the existing and the new volume has represented the most significant challenge of the project. More

The Sacramento County Airport System determined the need to modernize and upgrade Sacramento International Airport in response to the growth and passenger demands of the Northern California region. The existing Terminal B, which opened in 1967, was outdated from a technology perspective and not appropriately sized to handle current and future passenger growth.
