The pavilion emerged from the need to create a temporary structure capable of providing shade and shelter over a four-day period. Conceived as a place for gathering, it is organized around a single shared table where different groups of people meet throughout the day, encouraging informal encounters and collective occupation. Casa Gotarrendura is developed within an ecological residential complex, surrounded by more than 1200 hectares of forest. The single-family house project is based on the premise of fully respecting the existing vegetation, making it part of the project and a crucial element throughout the entire house. This housing project obeys in the first instance the construct that we understand as architecture, to say: the architectural program (dynamics), the use of space (the practical use of space), habitability, habitat (the place in a broad vision ) and the atmosphere of space (what is perceived in space).With this vision of how to build the space, we can mention two important elements.One attends to the optimization of space, achieving that a property measuring 6.5 m wide by 18.5 m deep, can provide larger areas than what is conventionally established. This project is governed by the idea of creating an urban home that transports you to a different place, away from the city, through a sensory experience. With this objective, we created an environment inside the property in which both the house and the outdoor spaces coexist and permeate the indoor-outdoor relationship. This was achieved by designing gardens that surround the house and create paths between nature and the building materials themselves, such as wood, stone, exposed concrete, carbon steel plate and glass.
